That is a strange power to have.
Can you imagine the disturbance a naked peasant girl getting around in a village in 1924 would have caused? I am surprised she is only described as an ‘inconvenient person’!
The article isn’t specific to the physical or mental condition of this girl either. Is she just a typical peasant girl whose clothes unfortunately fall apart during the course of her normal daily duties? The alternative is that she has behaviours that contribute to this. That might explain why they don’t really suspect ‘diabolic powers’. I wonder what was really happening to her clothing? The quality of clothing they were giving her had might not have been up to too much rough treatment and that might have, perhaps intentionally, contributed to the problem.
That the article said her clothes turn into something resembling spiderweb before disappearing is interesting. Any kid can make their clothes mysteriously disappear when they want, actually being able to de-materialize fabric though….
