This is a well-known television commercial from 1970, specially requested by Meeka.
It was dredged up from the dark vaults of Australian car history and is a follow-up to the Holden-fest on Friday. When I was young the catchphrase from this 1970 television commercial, “football, meat pies, kangaroos and Holden cars”, was known by all.
The fashions in the clip are dreadful, the filming was clearly an excuse to drive fast on dirt roads, and the kangaroos were probably lucky to survive the filming.
