This is possibly every famous persons worst taxi nightmare, a cabbie who is a rabid fan.
I love this Red Hot Chili Peppers song, By The Way, and the frenzied clip is very funny. Especially the end where the only band member who hasn’t been caught up in the drama flags down the same taxi.
Have a good weekend everyone! 😀
No, out of control housework is not why I didn’t post yesterday, I was… umm… shopping.
To stop you from wondering why I haven’t posted anything of substance today either I am going to distract you with this clip of one of the songs on high rotation in our house at the moment, Let Her Go.
Although this song by Passenger is sad the beautiful-ness of it makes it all better.
Yup. All that slacking off with the kids in the last two weeks was going to catch up with me one day and today was that day. I dropped them off at school this morning and reluctantly returned home to survey the damage all that laziness created.
Of course I hadn’t abandoned all house cleaning while they were on school holidays, I had just been performing at the minimum acceptable level. Unfortunately that meant today I had to go above and beyond to catch up. Bugger….
I’m not saying this was exactly the little voice in my head while I was washing and scrubbing, but it was something pretty close. 😀
In yesterday’s post I shared with you the love Number 1 son has for AC/DC, and that thanks to him their songs were expected to be on extremely high rotation this school holidays. Well, today I had Number 2 sons back and made sure his playlist got a go too.
Number 2 son is 10, and a kid with a rock star attitude. He is that kid who starts trends at school, knows a million people and wants to be a famous musician one day. His musical tastes though are distinctly classical, and for him an entire day of AC/DC is half a day of torture.
Number 2’s long-term favourite playlist is heavy on things like The Piano Guys* so it is a definite change from what we were listening to yesterday.
Unfortunately for me, Number 1 son is far more likely to make a stand when he wants the music changed so we were having to remain on guard for a sneaky ipod change between songs. Fortunately we managed to get to the end of the playlist, and a repeat, without any kind of guerilla attack from him…. 😀
Here, for your more peaceful listening pleasure, is one of Number 1’s most favourite songs, All of Me by John Schmidt.
*I have done posts on some of our favourites from them before if you are interested, Cello Wars for the Star Wars geeks amongst you, and the very funny Mission Impossible.
Today was the first day of the school holidays and, as expected, the boys spent far more time than is good for them playing video games. I got my sleep-in though, so all is well. 😀
Once I showed my face it was the cue for Number 1 son to commandeer the radio and turn it up loudly, as twelve-year-old boys do.
Our gentle, video game addict has proved to have an unexpected love of rock and roll, with no interest in the same music as most of his peers. Unfortunately for my brain (and thanks to his guitar teacher) he has a passion for AC/DC.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I love AC/DC, but Number 1 would happily play the same song over and over again all day. Clearly the favourite today was Back In Black so now I am going to
inflict it on share it with you. If you want to know what my next two weeks will be like just turn up your computer as loudly as you can and then put this clip on repeat…. 😉
For my own sanity I think I might have to take Number 1 down to the record shop and force him to buy a few more albums from AC/DC’s discography to put on that poor, abused, ipod!
I have been very lazy today. It was the last day of term for the kids so they knocked off earlier than normal and completely messed up my normal system. As a result I pretty much achieved nothing for the entire day. No, I don’t feel the slightest bit guilty.
Now it is school holidays the kids and I will be spending much of the next two weeks sleeping in, playing video games, and watching cartoons. Ahhh, bliss. 😀
Since I am on the theme of laziness the only appropriate thing to share with you is this clip. I already loved the song by Bruno Mars but when I found this version with Leonard Nimoy being the lazy one my day was made. 😀
Have a good weekend everyone!
