I started last week with a post about Number 1 sons love of AC/DC and the fact that their songs would be on high rotation all holiday (and so far I have been right).
Clearly he isn’t he only AC/DC fan out there as evidenced by this clip from the Aussie Orica GreenEdge team at this years Tour de France.
Clearly the Tour isn’t all about bike riding and tactics. There are also battered mullet wigs, roped in passers-by, air guitars and unauthorised explosives that almost went horribly wrong. Whether these guys win or not, clearly they have had a good time out on the road. 😀
GO AUSSIES!
It shows you can be serious about sport but still maintain a sense of humour. Well done them !
I expect that all that fun would make it a far better trip even if you lost too!
Well, they already have the drugs, so I guess this is the rock and roll!
😀
If only I could relate to the Tour de France as much as I do to the clip and the music… what a great laugh. Makes me proud to be an Aussie 🙂
It does, doesn’t it. I wonder how far in advance they were planning this bit of fun, the inflatable guitars seem to be in team colours!
I thought that too… a promo thing but it suits them, they do it well and I like it. Great Aussie cheekiness.
They did do it well. There is definitely a difference between a staged performance and this which seemed more like a “how cool would it be if we did this” kind of thing.
Oy! Oy! Oy! I’m not a sports fan but even I couldn’t miss seeing these guys. And their evident enjoyment becomes infectious. Made me think that this attitude is what winning at sport should be about. When did sport become so deadly serious and un-fun?
What a great time it looks as though they are having. 😀 I agree, what is the point of doing something unless you enjoy it too?
I think there’s too much emphasis on the ‘winning’. I know you have to be incredibly determined to win at all, but it’s also important to appreciate what you’ve achieved, imho. 🙂
