A very short post for now as my internet connection is indescribably bad tonight. I found this poetic advertising from 1908 that I thought was quite appropriate though….

What an un-PC ad! Can you imagine ever seeing a bit of advertising that encourages the bad-tempered to drink malt whiskey to cure it?!
Yikes! I don’t think the demon drink has ever made a grumpy person feel better about the world, do you?
Anyway, I thought it was appropriate as my temper has been stretched thin by the intermittent internet connection and constant error messages.
If I was a drinker I probably would have been drowning my sorrows and plotting my revenge by now…. grrrrr…. Telstra, I’m talkin’ to you……
There was a young lady who posted
on a blog of many treasures boasted
but when the internet coasted
the loss of the magic was indeed tragic
and Telstra was very well roasted.
LOVE this! 😀 (the kids loved it too) Thank you!
The loss of internet WAS tragic, it took me 3 hours of connecting and reconnecting and lost drafts to do this post! Grrrrr…. it is like we live in the middle of the jungle, not a mere 60k’s from the CBD.
A sip of pure malt whisky definitely makes me less grumpy… 😉
Purely for medicinal purposes of course 😉
Hmm… what’s that saying about ‘the hair of the dog’ ? And maybe a drink would help… if you had the DT’s…
A hangover ot the DT’s are certainly going to make you feel grumpy, I guess that having a shot of whiskey will make you feel better…..
lol – Maybe it’s only the drunks who never sober up who are ‘happy’ all the time. 😉
I have some post-Sandy the Super Storm friends who will enjoy this recommendation to drink!
I bet they would 🙂 I heard that in NY the queues outside the liquor stores were longer than those at the gas stations!
