When the sun shines through smoky skies everything takes on an orangey tinge and makes you feel as though you are wearing the wrong sunglasses.
Yesterday the colour of everything outside was tilted in that direction, which seemed very strange as it didn’t appear that there was much smokiness around. It put me in mind of the coming days of summer and its accompanying bushfires. Something I am not looking forward to.
For some reason it made me think of this song as well, Flame Trees by Cold Chisel. It is one of my old favourites, and, apart from the title, has nothing to do with bushfires and everything to do with sentimentality.
