    • Son number 1 will have issues for the first week, he is like you, needs to have a plan and without one his carefully constructed world falls apart! After the first few days though, he will actually start to relax and soon enough he will be enjoying the plan-free time too 😀

        • That would be a great idea except for one thing. He’s 11. Sadly for him he can’t slip into an alcoholic haze and make the world go away, he will just have to suck it up and realize that the world rarely does what you want it to do…. 😉

    • I hope so, there might be a lot of “we didn’t do anything today, just relaxed” though 😀
Good luck with the wedding, I hope you all have a magical day 😀 😀

  1. Bon voyage. There’s good and bad in no internet coverage (fortunately as we really are a captive audience for the telco’s) – a bit of down-time is a wonderful thing 🙂

        • It certainly is. One of the things I usually do early in the trip is to set an alarm in my phone to go off on the last possible day before we need to start making for home. We usually lose track of the days fairly quickly!

When we were wending our way home after 6 weeks away in 2010 we couldn’t work out why on earth every camping place along the Great Ocean Road was packed to overflowing. It took us some time to realize that it was Melbourne Cup weekend. The one time apart from Easter that EVERY person in Melbourne wants to go away!! Hopefully we have planned a little better this time 🙂

    • Thank you! 🙂 I hope we do find some good things to share. My camera always gets a good workout, that’s for sure!

We have called our trips The Bakery Tours before. Having lunch in a small town bakery is one of the joys of travelling in Australia. Many of those small towns have little more than a pub and a bakery with a suprising menu of special recipe pies and cakes. I think that ‘bakery’ was one of the first words number 2 son ever learned to read!

Tell me something!
