We all rail against the nanny state we have come to live in. Everything is regulated and controlled and we feel we can’t do anything without ‘them’ looking over your shoulder, a tsk tsk tsk at the ready. In my travels through the old newspapers however, I often find articles that remind me that there are some things that people need to be told.
This article from 29th December 1945 shows that in this case the thing they needed to be told was that a two-year old really doesn’t need a toy powered by liquid fuel. I am sure that back in the day this was a normal type of thing a small child would have access to, but I’m thinking, just say no.
